But in an hour the Bruins-Av game is starting and I get to hear the awful announcers on VS. I get a free week of NHL Center Ice and the first game of the season is on VS...

I went and got a box of random packs. It was very heavy in 97-98 Leaf cards. Bleh. But it had a Bobby Orr Beehive pack on the front. so I had to get it.
But I thought Id go eith the 96-97 Pinnacle mint as my first open
2 cards, 1 coin.
First i get a checklist of the 30 card set. Jim Carey is the only Bruin in this set. BOO
Fist real card is Mario Lemieux with a bronze penguins circle.
2nd card is Jim Campbell with a giant hole in the middle. jim had an okay rookie season that got him onto these cards somehow. In 285 NHL games he has 136 points. not as bad as others ive seen. But for the most part, Jim has spent his career in the AHl and has now decided to go over seas.
and of course.... the coin is Jim Campbell....
Since that was so depressing, I had to go open the Leaf pack. I really like the minimalist design. Just an action photo on the front and back.
Boston Bruins Landon Wilson. Wilson was on the Providence Bruins Calder Cup winning team meaning that I got to see him ride in a car he never got to afford with the Calder Cup. He also played in playoffs for Boston that season which seems a bit odd.
LA Kings Luc Robitaille. One of my favorite players. Randy Robitaille, who apparently is not related to Luc was on the Providence Bruins Calder Cup winning team too.
Vancouver Canucks Trevor Linden. This is a 'A Day in the NHL' card. One of the oddest things ive seen. Linden is pictured on the phone and on the back he is driving in his car. All that is mentioned is that he wakes up at 9am every day.
Vancouver Canucks Mark Messier. Hated the Rangers. Never liked him. He is on the Stanley Cup 6 times, HOF, 2 time Hart Memorial one Conn Smyth, 2 Pearsons, 15 all star appearances.
Montreal Habs Jocelyn Thibault (BOO) oddly enough, he is the last winning goaltender of the Montreal Forum, Maple Leaf Gardens and the Capital Centre. He plays for the Sabres now (BOO)
Montreal Habs Darcy Tucker. Currently on his new team of the Avs, He is the kind of guy who you hate to play against and love to have on your team. He is a jackass, but he will score goals and dish out hits.
Edmonton Oilers Curtis Joseph. He was on the Leafs when I started watching hockey. He is back on the Leafs. Ive always disliked him. I hate a lot of hockey players.
LA Kings Stephane Fiset. He isnt a great goalie. He didnt play for any good teams. meh
Vancouver Cunucks Pavel Bure. the Russian Rocket. Very good player. I hope him well in his Russian league GMing and.. crap.
Montreal Canadiens Saku Koivu. Now, Im deeply in love with Finish players. but... that Habs thing bothers me too much to care about him. I cant stand the colors he bleeds.
